finally caught Fast Food Nation! been wanting to watch it since i didnt watch Supersize Me back then. i was hoping to deter myself from fast food. yet i had to commit the ultimate irony of it all, bringing carls' jr into the cinema cos we were running late for the show. to my credit, at least i only brought in the fries.
the show wasnt too bad. but not as great as i would have hoped it to be (nor reached the deterrent effect), considering that i had to specially pick a time to watch this flick cos it doesnt show everywhere and everyday. heck the tickets were even more expensive. luckily we are students at least.
i guess whats sad but real about the show is, despite them showing how the people discover the ugly side of fast food production, and human nature seeing how they exploit the mexican workers, the few protaganists in the show still conformed in the end. at first it was all so idealistic, seemed like alot of them were going to fight against it. somehow however in the end the fast food empire is just too huge to counter. and i suppose (i hope!) in singapore they have those food checks that prevent shit in the meat patties. (thats what they said in the show, that theres shit in them)
well, its not a bad show, but lets just say i am not a changed person.. yet. macs breakfast anyone?
